Warren L. Martin, 91, a longtime resident of La Cañada Flintridge and a member of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory community, died on January 15, 2026.
Mr. Martin moved to La Cañada in 1963, where he lived for more than six decades and served for four years on the La Cañada Planning Commission. For his entire career at JPL, he was long associated with the Deep Space Program, where he earned recognition for his innovative perspectives.
He was well known for his rigorous standards, direct manner, and unwavering commitment to his work. He was awarded a NASA medal for Exceptional Scientific Achievement in 1971 for his work in deep-space communications.
Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, three children, and seven grandchildren.
