HAROUTUNE ARMENIAN
Our beloved father, Dr. Haroutune Krikor Armenian, passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 83.
He is survived by his wife, Sona Armenian, his children, Saro Armenian and Christine Armenian, and his cherished grandchildren, Shant Armenian and Sareen Armenian.
He was born in Beirut, Lebanon. His childhood in Beirut instilled a lifelong passion for the Armenian culture and he loved to speak about it with anyone who would listen. Haroutune and Sona first met and bonded over their mutual appreciation for Armenian heritage and community service, a connection that remained the foundation of their enduring marriage of over 50 years.
A physician by training, with a doctorate in public health, Dr. Armenian dedicated his life to advancing the health and well-being of communities around the world. A man of many talents, he was also a painter, accomplished writer, and poet. But ultimately, he was a humanitarian who tirelessly worked to make this world a better place—both through his groundbreaking work in public health and his deep commitment to serving others.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he leaves behind a family who will carry forward his love of learning, service, and community.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Armenian Apostolic Church in Glendale, California. A memorial luncheon will follow. All friends and family are welcome to attend.
